Cross-web gluing
The PLANATOL cross-web gluing systems have been especially developed for fold gluing in rotary presses. They are designed for gluing at a right angle to the web direction with up to 120,000 glue applications/hour. PLANATOL has invented this sophisticated technology and is its only supplier worldwide.
In cross-web gluing, finely dotted glue lines are applied accurately crosswise to the web direction. They are applied as an exact line of glue dots from holes with a diameter of 0.7 mm and a distance of 2 mm. The product glued cross-wise to the web is almost identical to the longitudinally glued product. The cross-web gluing system technology is protected by national and international patents.
In just the same way as the longitudinal gluing heads, several cross-web
gluing systems can be combined to provide accurate gluing of printed products
in the fold in 4-page skip with 8, 12, 16 and 32 pages. Operation is provided
via servo-drive. |
