Celebrations in a circus tent |
|
PLANATOL’s 75th anniversary is symbolized by
the image of an elephant. The elephant was part of the PLANATOL
logo in its early days, but in the course of the years it has been
replaced by the “PLANATOL P” and yellow stripes which represent
the glue coating. The elephant was re-introduced as a creative element
for the festivities. To complement this theme, the company organized
the anniversary in a circus tent in Gut Immling, South Bavaria.
The celebration took place on June 13th with 300 invited guests
– customers, representatives, suppliers, companions, politicians
and the owner family Hesselmann.
Speech by Theodor Hesselmann
In his speech Theodor Hesselmann thanked everyone for the many
years of successful cooperation. He announced that - after 51 years
as a member of the company – he would be moving to the supervisory
board at the end of the year. He introduced his successor Michael
Böddeker to the guests. He also mentioned in his speech: „As manufacturers
of adhesives and adhesive systems we have always had the problem
of presenting our product in a suitable way. A processed adhesive
is not visible. Everyone can recognize and see nailing, screwing,
riveting, welding and sewing. Adhesives are replacing these traditional
binding techniques at an incredible speed, for us unfortunately
with one disadvantage: they are invisible. As consumers, you have
every day products in your hands which have been glued with PLANATOL.
It starts with magazine inserts in your daily newspaper – they have
been fold-glued with PLANATOL. PLANATOL is a world leader with its
systems and adhesives for this technology. When you get in your
car, you will find manifold hidden joints glued with PLANATOL and
BIOLINK glues or adhesive tapes. The licking of a stamp, i.e. the
activation of the gum, is a simple, everyday form of adhesive technology.
It carries on with the book you are reading – it has been PLANATOL
bound. Documents are presented in a professionally bound form with
our PLANAX binders.“ To clearly illustrate the wide world of PLANATOL
gluing in a way that is easy to remember, a commemorative publication
in the form of a children’s picture book was available for all the
guests illustrating in an ironic way the company’s history and the
huge variety of product uses. The book is available on request –
just contact PLANATOL.
Musical entertainment
The evening was accompanied by first-class musical performances:
Felicitas Fuchs sang songs from „Westside-Story“ and from Gershwin
with the „Duo Virtuoso“ – Raul Alvarellos and Enrique Ugarte. The
young bass Jacek Janiszweski from Poland interpreted classic songs.
To round off the festivity a midsummer bonfire was lit. On parting,
every guest received an anniversary elephant – as plush toy..
